ROMAN AND BYZANTINE ERAS: FROM MOSAICS OF POREČ TO ARCHAEOLOGICAL POLA
Full day tour by minivan with maximum 8 seats with driver.
Meeting point: Trieste. You will be accompanied on this tour by a journalist who loves and knows very well these areas. Born in Rovinj, she lives and works in Trieste as a correspondent of the newspaper ‘La Voce del Popolo’. She worked in TV shows about Itineraries for TV Koper and published many books about Istria and its development through the revival of traditions, typical products and a new reality. Guided tour to POREC, a charming Istrian town with an extraordinary artistic and monumental heritage situated on the West Coast Peninsula. The Euphrasian Basilica is one of the best examples of Byzantine art in the Adriatic Sea – part of the Unesco Human Heritage. It is named after Bishop Euphrasius.
Lunch in a restaurant. In the afternoon we will reach Pola, an important port centre and fascinating city. The most important monuments of this city date back to the time of the Roman Empire. With an expert guide, you will discover the most interesting spots.
Return to Trieste.
