DISCOVER THE NATISONE VALLEYS
Guided visit to the Open Air Museum Na Gradu – Kolovrat, Museum of Caporetto and waterfall Slap Kozjak
Meeting in Trieste and departing with minivan (maximum 8 people)
Meet the local history expert guide in Ponte San Quirino and continue the visit towards Passo Solarie (Elevation 956 above s.l.). Along the path you will be introduced to culture, tradition, history and geography of the Natisone Valleys.
Beginning of the walking trail on the asphalt road ( “The beautiful street of Kolovrat” as described by M. Silvestri in his book “Isonzo 1917 “) and low-difficulty trail.
Reach the Italian trenches of World War I. (Open Air Museum Na Gradu of Mount Kolovrat) and M. Klabuk (elevation 1114 above s.l.) to access the walkways and trenches of the World War I.
In Passo Zagradan (1050 m) you can still see the remains of an artifact of the “Cold War” that painfully left a mark in the fate of the Natisone Valley peoples. Return to Passo Solarie and break for lunch.
Departure from Passo Solarie to reach Caporetto/Kobarid for the visit to the Museum of Kobarid. At the end of the visit, head to the waterfall Slap Kozjak through a picturesque footbridge over the river Isonzo.
Return to Trieste.
